New guild of renewable generation companies: Asociación de Generación Renovable A.G.

ACCIONA Energía, Ibereólica, Mainstream, and RWE have established a new industry association named the Renewable Generation Association A.G. (Asociación de Generación Renovable A.G.), whose Articles of Incorporation have been submitted to the Ministry of Economy for approval.

This new association aims to promote a regulatory framework that addresses the current challenges of the energy transition, supporting the development, operation, and protection of the renewable energy and storage industries while ensuring a competitive market.

Once the Articles of Incorporation are approved, the Board of Directors for this new entity will be composed, for a 12-month period, of the top representatives of the founding companies: Jaime Toledo from ACCIONA Energía as President, Manuel Tagle from Mainstream as Vice President, Alfredo Zañartu from RWE as Secretary, and Guillermo Dunlop from Ibereólica as Treasurer.

“To meet Chile’s ambitious climate commitments and achieve carbon neutrality, we need to accelerate the decarbonization of our energy matrix while ensuring equal conditions for the development of all clean energy generation technologies. Additionally, regulatory and administrative changes must be implemented in a timely manner to maintain Chile as an attractive market for the investments required for the energy transition,” explained Jaime Toledo.

Although the association will be officially constituted once the bylaws are approved by the Ministry of Economy, the founding companies are already working on proposals to collaboratively contribute to the improvement of the existing regulatory framework.
